Providing Restorative Dentistry for Nearly a Decade

Providing comprehensive restorative dentistry for patients who suffer from oral health problems that require necessary care is something we strive to accomplish everyday. Restorative dentistry procedures are common to general or family dentists and involve the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the teeth and gums. Family Dental Care provides our patients with the following procedures:

The advances in modern restorative dentistry have made it possible to improve our teeth with quick, painless, and surprisingly affordable treatments.

Professional Dental Cleanings, Oral Cancer Examinations, & Other Preventative Assessments

Every patient will receive a thorough dental examination by Dr. Johnson and her staff at Family Dental Care. We at Family Dental Care provide oral cancer screenings, soft tissue exams, TMJ checks, periodontal assessments, and address any other potential dental issues. Prevention also includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays.

Offering Cosmetic Dentistry Care for a Beautiful Smile

Family Dental Care provides comprehensive cosmetic dentistry for patients who are aiming to create positive changes to their teeth and smile. We realize that having a healthy, bright, beautiful smile enhances our appearance and allows us to smile with confidence. With modern advances in dentistry, cosmetic procedures can range from a basic color correction to replacing missing teeth. Aside from porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, dentures, and partial dentures, Family Dental Care provides our patients with the following procedures:

Professional Tooth Extractions

Teeth are important for aesthetic purposes and for maintaining masticatory function. Accordingly, all efforts to avoid tooth extraction should be exhausted before the decision is made to proceed with the removal of a tooth. Nevertheless, if you need a tooth extraction, Dr. Johnson and the Family Dental Care staff will do everything they can to lessen any discomfort.

Family Dental Care Uses Invisalign ® For Orthodontic Treatments

One of the primary concerns people often have about dental braces is the aesthetic impact of the metalwork on their smile. Especially for adults, the prospect of wearing unattractive metal braces for long periods of time can be very discouraging. Family Dental Care decided to dedicate their orthodontics to Invisalign®, offering an almost invisible aligning system that straightens teeth fast and contains no metal clasps or rubber bands.

At Family Dental Care, we make every effort to provide you with the most exceptional care and the most convenient financial options. To accomplish this we work hand-in-hand with you to maximize your dental insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. We also accept CareCredit in order to make it easier to obtain a healthy, happy mouth.

Patients, Parents, and Guardians

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some pretreatment screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again immediately before you come into the office and update your health history.
  • In order to limit the number of people in the reception area, upon arrival in the parking lot please call the office at 814-899-0602 to check in.  A treatment room will have already been set up for you and we will call your cell to let you know when to proceed into the office.
  • An associate will take your temperature prior to leaving the reception area and then you will be escorted to your treatment room immediately.
  • Please wear a mask on entering the building, just as you would any other place of business at this time.
  • We have hand sanitizer in the entryway that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Also, the waiting area will be used minimally if at all.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. Unfortunately, that will mean that you will be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment than previously.
  • We will will allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any given time.  At the same time, we have many, many patients who have been waiting months for care and a balance will have to be made between limiting office capacity and restricting access to urgent dental care. Of course, we will do our very best to serve your dental needs.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 814-899-0602 or visit our website at

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
