Dentures are used in cases when a tooth is unrestorable and removing the tooth is the only option. We work closely with our local oral surgeons to ensure a favorable result. An oral surgeon places a titanium implant. After adequate healing, the patient returns to us for the permanent crown and the abutment, the portion that connects the crown to the implant. In this way, functionality is restored, and the patient gets a strong and resilient permanent replacement tooth that is not susceptible to decay. How do I know if I need dentures?

For some people, an implant is a great way to replace an unrestorable or missing tooth. Is choosing to receive implant restoration always the right choice? When it is possible that a tooth can be repaired or restored, it should be. Each situation is evaluated carefully as to whether an implant is the ideal option for that patient. In most cases, alternative options for replacing a missing tooth are given. But in some cases, the implant is the most favorable, long-term solution. Additionally, the stability of your implant depends on your bone being healthy and strong.

What is involved in getting dental implants?

Dental implant restorations are an ideal way to replace missing teeth in most cases. Family Dental Care also encounters a variety of patients who have been without some of their teeth for quite some time or just recently suffered an injury to the mouth. After the titanium implant has had time to integrate with the bone, a custom-designed crown is fitted over the abutment, or attachment to the implant, for the final restoration. After a detailed consultation, Dr. Johnson and the staff at Family Dental Care make it our goal to provide you and all of our clients with dental implant restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.
